You will pay your veterinarian upfront, submit your claim, and then receive your reimbursement by electronic funds transfer to your bank account, or via a claim cheque in the mail. |

Can I use any veterinarian? |

Yes. You can keep your own vet or any other licensed veterinarian in Canada. While vacationing in North America, you can visit a licensed veterinarian in any province, territory, or in the continental United States. |

Is there a waiting period for coverage? |

Yes, and it is activated from your policy start date. For accident coverage, it is 48 hours, and for illness coverage it is 14 days. Dental coverage begins six months from policy purchase. |

What is co-insurance? |

Before any applicable deductible is applied, you are responsible for paying a percentage of your claim. Pet Insurance for Hudson's Bay customers pays up to 80% of your claim which means you are responsible for as little as 20%. |

What is a deductible? |
The deductible is the fixed amount that is deducted from your claim. You only pay a deductible if you make a claim; once the deductible is satisfied you don't have to pay a deductible again for any additional claims made in the same policy year. |

Do I have to vaccinate my pet? |

This is best decided by your veterinarian. You need to keep up-to-date with any vaccinations recommended by your veterinarian; he or she will advise you which shots are required and how often. |
